Tunde Deru

Principal

Tunde Deru is the Principal at Project Development Solutions, PDS, where he provides strategic business and project solutions to the energy sector in the USA and Africa. Before starting PDS, Mr. Deru was the Sales Director for GlassPoint Solar Inc. at GlassPoint, he developed and drove its strategic growth in California’s oil and gas industry resulting in its partnership with Aera Energy to build the largest, and first-of-its-kind, integrated solar steam and electricity project in the State, Belridge Solar.

Before GlassPoint, Tunde established and managed the Project Management Organization, PMO for Berry Petroleum Inc, California’s fifth-largest oil producer. At the PMO, Mr. Deru successfully managed $400 million CAPEX projects which enabled Berry to achieve its five-year strategic plan.

Tunde has more than two decades of sales and project execution experience in the oil and gas; renewables; telecommunications and construction industries. He has also held various technical and leadership roles at Processes Unlimited (now Stantec) and Schlumberger.

Tunde is a certified Project Management Professional, PMP, and is actively involved with the Project Management Institute. PMI, where he has volunteered in different roles including President of the PMI California Central Valley Chapter.

He is on the Career Technical Advisory Board for Industrial Automation at Bakersfield College, BC, and a consultant with BC’s Valley Energy Strong Institute.

Alyssa Macias

Project Associate

Alyssa Macias obtained a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2022 at California State University, Bakersfield. She works as a Project Associate for PDS, where she assists project/construction managers by regularly arranging project meetings, communicating project’s statuses, and reviewing/updating the project schedule and budget.

Macias assists in financial models, PowerPoint presentations (internal and external audiences), for internal reporting in team meetings. Additionally, she specializes in Solar PV designs where she performs energy simulation analysis and deliver model results at a fast pace, while also preparing reports detailing energy modeling results and design advice.

Then, she assists in communicating energy conservation measures effectively to both technical and non-technical project team members to assist them in making informed design decisions.

Finally, Macias works with coordinating electrical, civil, and architectural designs with discipline leads.

Dominic Torres

Project Associate

Dominic Torres obtained a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2021 at California State University, Bakersfield.

He works for PDS as a Project Associate where he provides the necessary skills to assist with the development and coordination of project scoping documentation. With his expertise in Solar PV projects, he prepares energy simulations and reports detailing energy modeling results and design advice to coordinate project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects.

Torres utilizes his solar experience to communicate energy conservation measures effectively to both technical and non-technical project team members to assist them in making informed design decisions.

Torres arranges and organizes regularly scheduled meetings, communicates construction statuses, and updates the construction project schedule, budget, and cash forecast.

He supports the creation and improvement of development and construction management tools and processes for every project given to him.

Jesus Bernardo

Project Advisor

Jesus Bernardo is a project advisor at Project Development Solutions. He leads interdisciplinary construction trades and provides direction in construction, safety management and project management.

Mr Bernardo has over three decades of global experience in technicalities and building in the oil and gas, renewables, and construction industries. He has been involved in project controls and construction/ project management of pharmaceutical plant facilities, chemical plant facilities, and international airports in the USA, Philippines, and Singapore.

Before PDS, Jesus worked with Cenergy International Services. At Cenergy, he managed the construction of oil and gas infrastructure projects and pre-planning and commissioning facilities projects.  Before Cenergy, Jesus collaborated with the LAUSD project team to execute the Los Angeles District school projects as superintendent and assistant project manager at Enterprise Construction Inc.

Jesus holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Central Luzon Polytechnic College.

Charles Amarikwa

Electrical Engineering Advisor

Charles Amarikwa is an electrical engineering advisor at Project Development Solutions, PDS, providing direction and oversight on electrical engineering and design. As an advisor, Mr Amarikwa brings an understanding and practice in electrical engineering, control system, instrumentation engineering, design, and construction management. His extensive expertise in oil processing and petrochemical industries.

He specializes in power system analysis and protection, equipment specification and design, project management, and control systems design in fields like oil processing, power generation, water treatment, and petrochemical industries. 

Over 42 years of experience have honed Charles’s understanding and practical application of design, support, and project management in the oil and gas industry; reviewing construction permit-based projects and consulting through his past experiences at Fluor Daniel Inc, Delta Construction Inc, as well as additional sales and marketing exposure as lead consulting engineer in Raymond Professional Group Inc. 

Charles is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Instrument Society of America, and ETA KAPPA NU Association. In California, Mr Amarikwa is a registered professional electrical engineer and holds a general engineering contractor’s license.

Jeff Petrini

Advisor

Jeff Petrini is an advisor at Project Development Solutions, PDS, where he provides direction on solar modelling, construction estimation development and project coordination.

Jeff has 34 years of experience on-site and off-site experience and expertise in the application of solar in agriculture, commercial, and oilfield industries. He has successfully managed, implemented, and sold over 100 distributed generation solar projects with over 30MW. 

As an advisor, Mr Petrini brings years of experience and practice in solar energy development. Deployment and construction.

Jeff Petrini holds an electrical technology associate degree from Bakersfield College and is a licensed general contractor.

Gbemi Deru

Business Manager

Gbemi Oluseyi Deru is the Business Manager at Project Development Solutions, where she is responsible for human resources, payroll, marketing, accounting and day-to-day administration of the organization. 

Gbemi has over two decades of experience in business management and organizational development. She has proven and tested business analytics, communication, and team-building skills which she deploys to improve business practices. 

Before PDS, she managed Purple Linen Apparel- a garment manufacturing business for ten years, Iconic Foods LLC- a food manufacturing business for eight years and Cowry Creek Apparel for six years. She held various leadership positions in these organizations including human resources, operations and production management, marketing.  

Gbemi has a BSc. Degree in Geography and Planning from the University of Lagos, a Master’s in Business Administration- MBA degree from California State University Bakersfield (CSUB). She is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and an ITIL v4 ServiceNow professional. 

John Urdaneta

Project Engineering Advisor

John Urdaneta is the Project Engineering Advisor at Project Development Solutions, PDS., overseeing interdisciplinary engineering activities for oil and gas, solar and gas processing projects.

John has over three decades of global experience in engineering and design, project engineering and management in the energy industry.

Before PDS, John was the Engineering Manager for GlassPoint Solar Inc. At GlassPoint, he developed and coordinated the development of solar steam projects like Belridge Solar, the Solar Steam Project in Oman, and the Direct Solar Hot Leaching Project in Chile.

Before GlassPoint, John led and spurred the creation of numerous energy facilities through KSI Engineering as Senior Project manager. While at KSI Engineering, Mr Urdaneta provided estimation, designed and ultimately successfully managed the development of oil and gas handling facilities in North Dakota. John has also led and managed large capital projects at Freeport-McMoRan and Process Unlimited International (now Stantec)

John Urdaneta has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Zulia and a master of science in natural gas engineering with a minor in chemical engineering from Texas A&M.
